How to use the IUJ Online Application System

admission-english-exemption

English Test Exemption Policy

Those who fall under one of the following categories are exempted from submitting an English Test score (TOEFL, IELTS or TOEIC):

Category 1

Applicants who have received an English-medium education for at least four years during their secondary studies in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the U.K. or the U.S.A., regardless of nationality, will be automatically exempted from submitting an English test score.

Category 2

Applicants who have completed (or are expected to complete) an undergraduate or graduate degree at an institution where the language of instruction is English may be exempted from submitting an English test score if they submit evidence* that the medium of instruction is English at the institution granting the degree.
* Please note that the academic transcript cannot be submitted as the evidence unless it clearly states the language of institution is English.

GSIM Applicants: GMAT/GRE or IUJ Math Test

Applicants to the Graduate School of International Management (GSIM) are required to upload an official GMAT or GRE score report.
However, applicants who meet certain conditions may choose to take the IUJ Math Test in place of submitting a GMAT or GRE score.

For applicants residing outside Japan and applying to programs other than the Digital Transformation Program, the IUJ Math Test is available only in the third intake.
If you wish to be considered for a full scholarship, you are strongly advised to submit a GMAT or GRE score and complete your application by the second application deadline.

For applicants to the Digital Transformation Program residing outside Japan, as well as applicants residing in Japan, the IUJ Math Test may be taken in any intake.

GSIM Applicants: Overview of the IUJ Math Test

  • Test Duration: 1 hour
  • Number of Questions: 12 (multiple-choice)
  • Format: Online
  • Test Content: Based on the Japanese high school math curriculum
  • Test Level: Equivalent to the GMAT Quant Test
  • Topics Covered:
    ・functions, graphs, and geometry
・basic calculus (differentiation, integration, max & min values)
・sets, probability, and elementary statistics (mean, median, mode, variance, etc.)
    ・miscellaneous word problems
  • Notes:
    ・Calculators are not permitted.
・There is no penalty for incorrect answers.

Applicants may consider the IUJ Math Test as one of the standard tests (such as the GMAT or GRE). We believe that there is no quick way to improve math scores in the short term.

Special Selection for Linkage Program

The application process for the Linkage Program differs from the standard application procedure. Please refer to the website of the relevant Graduate School for details.
